Wow! What a ride this year has been!!! I started a job in February...hit the ground running, or hit the accelerator I should say and just went forward. This job is overwhelming in the volume. It's not rocket science but it is a fire hydrant wide open that I'm trying to keep up with!!!
How different this October is from last. Last year I got laid off from a wonderful job as the company closed down followed by several months of unemployment. Now I have so much work to do I can't even take the time to make a "to do" list each day...I just "do" and move on to the next task waiting in line.
God, please help me to make a difference in the world each day, no matter how small.

Waterfall Colors
Have you ever stood still and watched a waterfall? It is so fast and powerful, and full of ever changing colors, shapes, sounds, and energy. And, well...it's endless.
That's how I feel about my new job. It is so full of new experiences that time just gushes forth and pulls me with it, so fast that I can't even hang on, I just get pulled along with it.

2009 some kind of an odyssey...
2009...wow...it really is 2009.
When I was a kid one of my favorite sci-fi movie's was 2010 A Space Odyssey...a fascinating movie to me even now. I can't believe 2010 is only a year away.
I have been blessed with a temporary assignment that started in mid-November working at a hospital in their quality department. It suits me really well, and I work with a group of 5 mature women...emphasis on "mature" because we are all comfortable with our own selves and not competing with each other...so it is really nice, really, really nice (especially after working for 18 months with a bunch of burly concrete guys).
My mother-in-law is having surgery tomorrow...double knee replacement...can you say "ouch!" I don't envy her at all. She's only 61 but both knees have completely worn out. I pray that the surgery goes well and her recovery is good, and quick.
